Alton Steel operates a 200 ton electric arc furnace and a 14″ bar mill in Alton, Illinois, USA. We have the capacity to melt 750,000 tons of steel in the melt shop a year and to roll 400,000 tons of SBQ (Special Bar Quality) steel bars in our 14″ rolling mill. Our sizes range from 3/4 inch bars all the way up through 3.9 inch bars, bar-in-coil, and also produce round-cornered squares.
