W. A. Silva (Wijesinghe Arachchige Silva) was a pioneering Sri Lankan Sinhala-language novelist, journalist, and playwright. Born in 1890, he is considered one of the most influential figures in early Sinhala literature. His novels were among the first to gain mass popularity in Sinhala fiction, with stories often exploring romance, folklore, and social issues. Some of his notable works include Kele Handa, Lakshmi, and Hingana Kolla.
