As I travel around California, I am struck by the state’s astounding diversity and its natural beauty. Our towering forests and incredible mountains are just an hours drive from the beaches and deserts. California has the High Sierra Nevada mountains, (elevation 10,881 ft.), and Death Valley, which has the lowest elevation in the Americas, (282 feet below sea level).
