The USS Ashtabula AO-51 was the finest Fleet Oiler to ever steam across the seas. As all Navy men know, the true heart and soul of a ship is her crew. The Ashtabula was manned by the best sailors and officers ever to carry a seabag across the brow. A special thanks goes out to fellow crew member Paul McGinty who founded this website when the ship was laid to rest in the year 2000. Paul passed away in 2022 after battling a lengthly illness. His wish was for this site to stand as a legacy for all
