A pharmacy has sat on the corner of NW 21st and Glisan since 1892. The current building was built in 1926 and the Nob Hill Pharmacy was owned and operated by the same family from 1933 until it closed in 2005. But the Nob Hill Pharmacy was more than a cozy corner store dealing our prescriptions to Northwest Portland. It was also a Hollywood hotspot, and in 1989, the pharmacy was used in the opening scene of the Gus Van Sant movie, Drugstore Cowboy. The security mirror featured in the clips below
