Born in Belleville, Ontario, Ron Base was a teenager when he got his start writing for the daily Brockville Recorder and Times. He was a reporter and columnist at the Windsor Star; a writer for the Toronto Sunday Sun when it started; Maclean’s Magazine contributing editor and movie critic for the Toronto Star. As a magazine writer his pieces appeared in publications in the U.S. and Canada. He wrote screenplays in Los Angeles and Europe. The author of fifteen Sanibel Sunset Detective mystery no
