Shaheed Lieutenant Kiran Shekhawat proudly served in the Indian Navy before her tragic and untimely demise in the naval maritime patrol aircraft crash on the night of 24 March 2015, off Goa during search and rescue operation. Lt. Kiran Shekhawat, country`s first woman officer to die in the line of duty. She was called `Iron Lady` by her peers and superiors. She was cremation with full military honours on 29 March 2015.
