George and Helen Koutsoupias migrated to the United States in 1972 with a dream of someday owning a successful restaurant business. George’s goal was, and still remains, to make people happy with delicious home-style meals. George quickly set up shop in Charlotte, North Carolina, and featured his own recipes in the early 1980s at the Alamo Plaza Restaurant. The restaurant was renamed Georgio’s in 1984. As a successful restaurateur in Charlotte, George decided to branch out into Gaston County
