Charlene Liska works in photography, painting, and video. Her art frequently explores the sensory effects of living with photosensitive epilepsy and "grand mal" seizures. In addition, she spent 14 years living off-the-grid in the frozen subarctic wilderness of Labrador, Canada. This long period of isolation in "nothingness" significantly shaped her visual perception of light and landscape.
