Building Readers’ Brains (BRB) is a set of structured literacy instructional routines designed to match the cognitive processes that occurs in a readers’ brain when reading. The BRB Word Building Routine builds neural systems used during reading and strengthens connections between those systems leading to measurable gains in reading proficiency. BRB is an answer to Seidenberg’s call to educators to use the brain research to design reading instruction (Seidenburg, 2023, 2019).
