I’ve been staring out the window for nearly an hour, this beautiful October morning, trying to get my mind around the task of writing about my father’s life and death. The air is crisp and the leaves on the trees are starting to fall as the stubborn summer has finally (seemingly) conceded to autumn here in Salt Lake City. Maya Angelou wrote an incredible poem called ‘When Great Trees Fall’ and I am thinking about that now.
