I think Ephesians 5:25 is Jesus’ quote on the figurative cover of His book on marriage… it’s meant to get you to read the book in its entirety. We are to keep reading, into verse 26, and as husbands WE are Christ’ wife, and He cleanses us (and our wives) with the washing of water
