Appalachian Conservation Biology was begun in 1997 in the Appalachian Mountains of western Maryland, and since 2005 has been located in Bethel, Maine. Clients are mainly state and federal agencies, but also include non-profit conservation groups, private landowners, and other environmental consulting firms.
