In her visionary artwork, Amy Funderburk explores the intersection of the physical with the spiritual and emotional realms by merging figurative elements into sacred landscapes or presenting self-portraits in psychologically heightened situations. To encourage viewers to enter these worlds where boundaries are challenged, she creates participatory experiences, as well as multi-component painting installations where she blurs the line between painting and three-dimensional work.
