Alan Johnston PhD is a British artist and naturalist. Born in Zürich in 1959, he lives in the Ardennes (Luxembourg). An addictive “en plen air” sketcher and watercolourist, he illustrates, writes and designs published sketchbooks. His medium-sized oils, multiples, Indian ink shadow painting and artist’s books question the ambiguities between figuration and abstraction, between looking and seeing and between science and art.
