This website offers information and analysis on the Academic Freedom Index (AFI). The AFI assesses de facto levels of academic freedom across the world. It is a unique approach to conceptualizing and measuring academic freedom and a colloborative effort between researchers at Friedrich-Alexander-Universität Erlangen-Nürnberg (FAU), and the V-Dem Institute.
