The 3D Mesonet Project is a cooperative effort between the University of Oklahoma and Oklahoma State University to collect spatiotemporal (3D) atmospheric measurements in the lower atmosphere through the use of small, instrumented unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). These weather-observing UAS (WxUAS) are capable of providing inexpensive, accurate, and controlled measurements of the Earth’s planetary boundary layer.
